Edith Cowan University Hiring for Horticulturist / Senior Gardener Full Time

The Buildings, Projects and Planning team are responsible for planning, developing, managing and maintaining all University assets and grounds.

The Role

The Horticulturist/Senior Gardener provides broad technical horticultural expertise for the maintenance and improvement of the campus landscape and grounds.

This role involves leadership and supervision of a small team of gardeners to ensure the safety of the team, students and staff while at the same time delivering an efficient and effective progressive service that will assist in positioning ECU as an attractive environment in which to work and study.

Required skills and experience:
Completion of Year 12 and/or relevant work experience. Certificate in Horticulture and/or equivalent level of expertise gained from significant experience in the horticultural field in large community facilities

Proven leadership and relationship building skills including customer relationships in service provision

Demonstrated experience in the safe use and application of chemical products used in the horticultural field

Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of grounds maintenance including horticultural principles and practices, watering systems, and machinery/equipment operation and maintenance

Proven ability in planning for and execution of landscape maintenance schedules and contribute to successful long term landscape planning

Benefits & Remuneration

These full-time ongoing positions attract remuneration of $75,821 to $84,254 pa (HEW 5) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
