Finance and Business Services Centre plays the primary role in the strategic management of financial resources across the University. Our aim is to partner with our customers and provide them with superior services that deliver professional relationships, efficient processes, and sound financial management to support the University’s objectives.

Within FBSC resides the Financial Services Team which comprises of Financial Accounting, Revenue Accounting, Treasury and Taxation. We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic individual with experience in Financial Accounting to fill the role of Financial Accountant.

The Role

As part of the Financial Accounting team this position assists in delivering a range of effective financial services. The position works closely with the Team Leader, Financial Accounting to ensure that the objectives of the University are achieved through the application of financial skills and knowledge across a wide requirement portfolio.

Key Criteria

Degree in a relevant field (typically Accounting, Commerce or Business Management) with a major in Accounting and a post graduate accounting qualification;

Relevant experience in preparing the statutory financial statements information for a medium to large organisation;

Demonstrated knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards and other legislation;

Proven record of skills and experience in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures;

Ability to plan and organise own work to maximise the use of time and meet deadlines;

Experience in Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems, BI Reporting Tools with the ability to effectively and efficiently manipulate data and prepare and present reports using MS Excel.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $82,658 – $89,180 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
