Edith Cowan University Hiring for Casual / Sessional Academics Pool – School of Science Job at Bunbury Full Time

The School of Science, Science & Mathematics Discipline, has a strong track record of excellence in teaching and research in Mathematics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Physics, Conservation Biology, Marine Biology, Environmental Management, Sustainability and Horticulture. We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have active research programs across all disciplines. The School is looking for suitably qualified and experienced personnel to provide unit coordination and/or teaching for both online and on campus undergraduate units in a broad range of areas on our Joondalup and Bunbury campuses.

The Science & Mathematics Discipline is looking for tutors and laboratory demonstrators who have expertise in the above subject areas. Opportunities are available during normal ECU semester times and other times of the year.

Successful applicants for sessional Tutor and Marker positions:

Will possess a qualification at least at Honours/Masters level and, if you do not possess a PhD, have the equivalent professional experience of at least 1 level higher than the level you will be teaching/marking/coordinating (see below*).

Have a strong and effective strategy for teaching and/or assessing.

Be able to work independently and to required timeframes.

Professional equivalence will be considered in one or more of the following:

Leadership in the development of professional standards

Performing in a role that requires high order judgment and the provision of expert advice, or roles at a senior level.

Managing significant projects in the field.

Testimonials, awards or other recognition that acknowledges leadership or expertise in the field of education.

Contribution in the field of education through participation in advisory boards and professional networks.

Peer reviewed publications in the field of education.

Other publications such as creative works, books and reports.

Leadership or management of research acknowledged by peers.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that align with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.
