We are looking for Database and applications support developer to join our Information Services Extended Leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis, at Edinburgh Napier University, ‘#1 Modern University in Scotland’.

As one of the largest professional services departments in the University, Information Services is responsible for the provision of technology, systems and library services. Information services underpin all aspects of University operations and provide key enablers to deliver the ambitious University strategies for Learning & Teaching, Research & Innovation and Internationalisation.

The role

The role of the Database and Applications Support Analyst is to provide ingenious solutions to problems and develop opportunities. Working with colleagues across IS, Suppliers and the wider University, you will create sector leading solutions to problems and opportunities improving how teaching, learning and research is delivered. These roles will have involvement in delivering change alongside supporting the live service.

What we are looking for

• Qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant practical experience in a similar role
• A solid working knowledge of – and passion for – the software development lifecycle, application support, data management and databases
• Proficient in MS SQL, MySQL and MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Experience of designing and tuning, databases and reporting, using appropriate tooling to improve the efficiency of services

Annual salary: £33,309 – £39,739 (Grade 5)
