Terms of Employment:
12 months/ 226 days per year. Salary is at Administrative Program Pay Grade AP5 on the EISD Compensation Plan on a term or probationary contract, as applicable. Annual salary range is $74,750–$88,988 based upon directly related experience.
Primary Purpose:
The Career and Technical Education Coordinator assists in providing vision and direction for all aspects of the Career and Technology Educational Program. To monitor and evaluate Programs of Study to ensure course sequences, externships, internships and practicums lead to an endorsement and industry certification. To develop advisory councils for each Program of Study and establish partnerships with industry, business and higher education entities to provide college and career pathways for all students.

Education/Certification:
Master’s Degree required
Principal or Mid-Management Certification required
Career and Technical Education Teacher certification, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of career and technical education programs
Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinate Career and Technology Education services to meet students’ needs.
Apply research and district studies to improve the course offerings, content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching learning process.
Work with appropriate staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on systematic review analysis.
Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs.
Facilitate the use of technology in the teaching-learning process.
Plan the necessary time, resources to elicit industry, business and higher education partnership.
Serve as a resource to represent the district when meeting with community partners and higher education leaders.
Ensure that Career and Technology services are supportive of the instructional goals of the district.
Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use these findings for corrective action and improvement, as well as for recognition of success.
Coordinate efforts to establish graduation plans with endorsements.
Work with personnel toward implementation of Programs of Study and endorsements.
Accurately prepare and submit in a timely manner any and all reports required by the board, the Texas Education Agency, and other federal and state agencies and any records subpoenaed by a court of law.
Prepare recommendations for the annual budget.
Ensure that funds are expended in accordance with the approved budget.
Work with campuses and CTE department to compile district, campus, and program budgets and cost estimates based upon documented program needs.
Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy in the area of business operations.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Develop and implement proposals for submittal to the Texas Education Agency.
Direct community services to meet students’ needs.
Recruit business partners for district and campuses mentor, internship, and externship programs.
Sustain and enhance positive relationships with the business community.
Other duties as assigned in the best interest of the school district.
