EDF Limited Hiring for Finance Modelling Accountant Job at East Kilbride, Scotland Full Time

The Opportunity

As the Financial Modelling Account your key function is to provide vital financial information to support the Generation management (Generation, Nuclear Generation – NG or Coal and Gas – C&G) in decision making and performance monitoring. This will include the design and review of financial models to support a range of activities including financial, commercial and strategic matters to both add value and mitigate risk for EDF.

The Role

As the successful Financial Modelling Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

• Develop and enhance financial models across the Generation business to improve efficiency and timely insight of numbers.
• Support the Financial Strategy Senior Manager to develop financial and commercial business cases for NG decommissioning activities. Support the long term financial forecasting / strategic planning and valuation activities for the existing Nuclear Generation and Thermal business by maintaining financial models to ensure they are relevant, accurate and fit for purpose.
• Communication of the output from long term financial models to a number of stakeholders across Generation in order to aide decision-making. Collaboration with a number of stakeholders during the MTP process to ensure understanding and consistency of assumptions.
• Implement appropriate changes to a range of financial models as required including providing support to the ND leads. Communicate changes to financial models to a number of stakeholders across the business to ensure the assumptions used in the models are accurate and understood.
• Maintain the long term model for use in impairment assessments ensuring that assumptions are consistent with MTP and longer term forecasts are in line with business strategy. Communicate changes to financial models to a number of stakeholders across the business to ensure the assumptions are accurate and understood.
• Undertake financial forecasting and modelling associated with new business development activities and funding considerations together with support for transformation activities.

The Skills

As the Financial Modelling Accountant you will have the following skills and experience:

• Qualified Accountant or individual suitably qualified by experience
• Significant experience in a financial modelling role within a large organisation
• Strong communication skills with all levels of management and staff
• Ability to build effective working level relationships across functions including at a senior level
• Financial management accounting experience within utility or power sector would be an advantage
• Strong EXCEL skills with extensive experience in complex financial modelling are essential
