The Opportunity
Are you an Analyst, capable of delivering financial modelling and valuation work to support our investment decisions?
This role sits within Strategy & Analysis, a growing internal team responsible for investment analysis & valuation, strategy, origination of new revenue streams, M&A and regulation & policy.
As part of our Strategy & Analysis team, you will be exposed to various technologies including – Wind, Solar & Energy Storage. You will embody their shared values of enthusiasm, collaboration and excellence to help them to deliver support to the wider business.
Day to day you will
In this role you will build, own and maintain financial models supporting on renewable energy projects, inputting assumptions, modelling and delivering reliable financial outputs. Preparing valuation reports, memos supporting investment decisions and maintenance / development of key business models/tools, including the tracking and updating of market-related inputs are all core responsibilities of the role.
You will have the chance to present investment analysis to key stakeholders in the team and project development managers throughout the business, monitoring existing investments and reconciling actual performance with original business cases.
The team are looking for a team player, who will thrive in a collaborative environment. You will be able to build and maintain relationships with key colleagues and stakeholders within EDF RUK. To add to this, you will need:
- Financial modelling skills and experience in financial appraisal and risk analysis for investments, ideally for renewables assets
- An understanding of accounting, finance and valuation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, clean and interpret data as well as present findings and results in a clear and compelling manner
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of identifying critical business issues and making sound judgements
- Excellent delivery and presentation skills – someone who takes pride in presenting their work to senior stakeholders
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable team player, with strong analytical skills that enjoys speaking with and building relationships with varying stakeholders. This is a role that someone with 1-3 years’ experience as an Analyst will thrive in. You will have commercial knowledge & an ability to digest technical and financial inputs as well as being able to confidently present findings.
Knowledge and experience within the energy sector, particularly Renewables, will be highly beneficial.
