Logistics Transportation Coordinator

The candidate will lead the development and execution of the logistical plan. Individual should have experience in warehouse, logistics and distribution center operations. Proven abilities of implementing effective process controls and quality improvement initiatives. Solid background of improving customer satisfaction. Highly effective in building working relationships with sales team, carriers, and brokerage firms. The candidate will be a warehouse management system subject matter expert and help develop and execute system processes.

Position Overview

Logistical Planning & Execution

· Research and analyze freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfactions.

· Negotiate logistics services contracts and pricing agreements with providers in various transportation modes.

· Establish and monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems. (KPI’s, including cost per ton per mile, reduction of additional charges including demurrage, surcharges, and standby)

· Develop and monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics, indicators, and financial metrics, identify trends and analyze variances.

· Maintain knowledge of freight tariffs, classifications, and discounts for successful negotiations.

· Weekly freight related tracking of freight cost, lumper fees, discounted backhauls.

· Schedule and route inbound outbound freight based off delivery dates/use by dates.

· Build working internal relationships revolving around customer service/purchasing groups.

· Deep understanding of current WMS installed in our facility (Training will be provided).

· Translation of daily operations plans into our Warehouse Management System.

Candidate requirements:

· Experience in warehouse, logistics and distribution center operations.

· Proven abilities of implementing effective process controls and quality improvement initiatives.

· Solid background of improving customer satisfaction.

· Highly effective in building working relationships with sales team, carriers, and brokerage firms.

· General knowledge of inventory management.

· Great Leadership skills.

· Great strategic skills for shipment optimization.

· Great troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at the same time.

· Ability to solve problems efficiently.

· Possess the character and communication skills necessary to build a positive relationship with our carriers.

· Computer experience necessary, Windows and Excel or similar programs.

Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000, 10% Bonus Target

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

Experience:
