ECONOLODGE SMITHS FALLS Hiring for Part time front desk clerk and night audit at Smiths Falls, ON Full Time

The candidate we are looking for must deliver exceptional guest service, provide solutions to guest questions or concerns. Go above an beyond to exceed our guests expectations.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Accurately registers all guests arriving at the hotel.
• Ensures all guest registration cards are correctly completed and filed by room number.
• Establishes and maintains rapport with guest during check-in/check-out.
• Performs check out tasks including: confirm billing, taking payment, asking for future reservations and printing receipt.
• Answer any questions; provide maps and information as needed such as local restaurants, entertainment, or attractions.
• Accurately balances all financial transactions and expenses for 24 hour hotel operating period.
• Balances and audits for accuracy room revenue, and telephone revenue.
• Assists in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.
• Balances and audits for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashiers reports, guest and house account.
• Completes and transmits daily management and accounting reports and supporting documentation.
• Prepares customer tracking report, market segmentation report, and other auditing report necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.
• Communicates with other staff as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information.
• Operates the front office computer systems.
• Post all guest charges and payments incurred during shift, and balanced shift totals, by department, to back up documents.
• Checks all credit cards using point of sale authorization terminals and obtains authorization for those accounts which have exceeded house floor limits.
• Maintain cashier float as supplied, provide currency exchange for guests and prepare cash deposit.

• Must be able to work under high pressure/high stress situations during busy times.
• Maintain and practice a safe working environment as outlined in the corporation’s Health & Safety Manual, for self, fellow employees and guests.
• Follow Choice training procedures.
• Know and use emergency procedures.

Other requirements

• Must be available to work all shifts AM/PM and overnight
• Report to work well-groomed, in a clean, proper uniform, and at all times practices good personal hygiene.
• Physical Requirements:
• Continuous standing, bending, reaching forward, neck, wrist, and hand movement.
