Econ Engineering Limited Hiring for Apprentice/Trainee Electronics/Software Engineer Job at Ripon, England Full Time

Econ Engineering Ltd is the UK’s largest supplier of winter maintenance vehicles and are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice/Trainee Electronics/Software Engineer.

The successful candidate will develop skills and gain experience in both hardware and software development of embedded systems in the automotive sector. Programming or Electronics skills and qualifications are an advantage however these can be taught for a motivated and driven individual with a strong background in maths or physics.

There will be opportunities to take charge and responsibility for small projects after the initial training period. Job description includes both hardware design work of PCBs and prototyping followed by software development, testing and verification (including field work on site). There will be a strong focus on reliability and safety in the project work and the successful candidate will gain and utilise a broad yet deep skillset in a varied range of applications within the sector.

Qualifications / Experience

– A Level Maths (B or higher) and A Level IT/Computer Science (B or higher) or any equivalent vocational qualification

– GCSE, A Level, vocational qualification or experience with electronics desirable

– Good written English Skills

– Ability to pick up new concepts and skills quickly and engage in self-directed learning are essential

– Familiarity with Linux, Raspberry Pi or Arduino advantageous
