EC-COUNCIL UNIVERSITY (ECCU) is an academic training provider that operates under the parent company EC-Council, the largest professional training and certification body in Information Security. ECCU courseware and curricula is nationally accredited by DEAC and recognized by CHEA, NICE and CNSS to meet the national standards of cybersecurity education. ECCU is primarily focused on cyber security and offers both a Bachelors (BS) and a Master (MS) degree program. ECCU currently offers its courses on an E-Learning platform (Canvas) and therefore is 100% online.

About the Role

The Program Chair serves as the academic expert for the assigned programs, providing vision, oversight, and direction for academic quality and student success. The position is responsible for overseeing curriculum development, program review, learning outcome assessment, and the academic health of the program(s). The Chair works collaboratively with the Dean, Academic Affairs, and program faculty, engaging regularly with leaders across the University to ensure academic programming is of the highest quality and students are successful. Ability to teach in one’s discipline is an essential component of this role.

Duties and responsibilities

• Serves as the key leader for the assigned programs, providing expertise
• Develops an annual set of goals and objectives which guide Program activities.
• Provides oversight for the development of new academic programs, working closely with SME’s, content contributors, and instructional design.
• Manages ongoing program review and program enhancement processes.
• Conducts program and course mapping for partnership agreements and needs
• Evaluates student learning outcomes and disseminates the results to ensure ongoing quality improvement.
• Lead programmatic summits and builds for program launches
• Collaborate and strategize with Academic Affairs on student outcomes, retention, and programmatic performance to enhance student success.
• Develops and leads Program Advisory Board meetings to ensure that programs and curricula are relevant for today’s workforce.
• Serves as a programmatic expert and liaison to Marketing, Admissions and Career Services.
• Responsible for teaching a minimum of 1 course per term
• Sends out programmatic newsletter
• Oversees programmatic co-curricular and club activities
• Delivers faculty internal professional development every quarter and ensure faculty professional development compliance
• Conducts quarterly faculty evaluations
• Maintain faculty files and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Assign and manage student exam voucher process
• Create and maintain virtual internship
• Advise, guide, and review student submissions for publications. Collaborate with Marketing on student publication activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and experience:

• Master’s degree in Cyber Security is strongly preferred. EC-Council University follows the requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and the states in which the University operates.
• At least 2 years teaching experience in higher education.
• At least 5 years of experience in field of study.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
• Experience with working curriculum and accreditation
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance bodies including accreditation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers.
• Demonstrated track record of organizational/team/individual development.
• Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
• Self-motivated, flexible, goal-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to set ones’ own priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet frequently occurring deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Possess a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and multi-cultural awareness.
• Ability to work flexible hours and some evenings.
