Title: Software Developer

Reporting To: Regional IT Director Asia-Pac

Position Overview:

You will be required to develop new solutions using the below but not limited to the below skillset. The immediate need will be to assist with the development of a desktop solution.

There will also be times where you will be required to maintain our existing systems, while developing new solutions. You will have good thinking outside the box skills for when difficult situations arise.

You will have implemented solutions of your own design or have made significant contributions to the design of the solution. The solution should include both UI and database components. With a focus on .NET desktop applications and you will be able to justify the decisions made in the design and call upon your clear and coherent communication skills. Participate in design sessions and code reviews

Engage with the media analysts to gain business knowledge, understand problems, and define requirements of solutions again calling upon your clear and coherent communication skills

Propose and deliver scalability and performance enhancements to our applications

Research and incorporate the latest features of C#, .NET, WPF into our applications

About you – Skills:

• Experience developing desktop applications
• Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery), would be desirable
• Experience working with Agile methodology
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies is an added advantage
• Understand the architecture of the .NET Framework, such as a working knowledge of events, delegates, lambda expressions and LINQ
• Strong C# skills, encompassing WPF technology & MVVM methodology
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC
• Comfortable using Visual Studio
• Strong SQL Server knowledge: T-SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL optimisation and relational database design experience
• Microsoft SSAS, SSIS & ETL’s experience would be an advantage
• Experienced working with Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of enterprise application architecture experience in design patterns, concurrency, and performance would be an advantage
• Good experience with application design and development best practices
• Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Experience using visualization tools including Power BI would be an advantage

• Understand the importance of UI design and functionality
• A knack for writing code that is clean, readable, testable, and easily maintained
• In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and be able to dynamically adapt to a changing environment
• Worked in AGILE, SCRUM environment
• Excellent clear and coherent communication skills; including collaborating with teams that may be in different geographic locations
• Contribute to product design and architecture discussions
• Assisting with Business Analyst roles to produce requirements documents & manuals
• Liaising with the development team and the client service team on fixes/solutions/ general progress of support requests
• Methodical and organised approach to work, with a high attention to detail
• Enjoy and work well co-operatively in a team environment
• Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
• Be forthcoming with questions and be willing to challenge
