Overview of the Director, Software Engineering::
The Director of Software Engineering will understand the broad picture behind ebbo’s business and technical initiatives. They will build upon and lead highly talented software engineering teams that are focused on using technology and product design principles to innovate and deliver modern platform-based solutions.

The Director of Software Engineering will be customer centric, outcome oriented, understand business results, is highly efficient and executes with speed and agility. The Director of Software Engineering will influence roadmaps and goals, while identifying points of integration and ensuring effective implementation that will further improve ebbo’s clients and customer experience. If required, the Director will grow the engineering staff to meet the needs of the Organization. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office and 3 days remote.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Director, Software Engineering::

• Oversee: design, development, delivery, and management of software engineering resources in support of business objectives using modern practices and methodologies.
• Drive application ecosystem simplification to reduce cycle time and improve agility.
• Develop and maintain system and team technical roadmap.
• Accountable for the technical health of large suite of applications and drive the design, development and delivery to further scalable and reliable working software through best-in-class, modern and Cloud-first software solutions.
• Develop and on metrics and KPIs for software engineering team; use metrics and KPIs to highlight areas of focus and improvements.
• Collaborate with other technology and business teams to achieve organization and business goals.
• Track and monitor the progress of key projects and their milestones and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Manage, develop, and train talented team members. This includes both hiring and growing employees as well as the effective use of consultants.
• Manage all day-to-day personnel administration and handle issues as needed.

Skills and Experience of the Director, Software Engineering::

• .NET MVC and Core development using AWS Cloud technologies.
• Experience leading high preforming software engineering teams, along with a track record of delivering large scale software engineering initiatives (such as application modernization).
• Several years of practical experience in agile software development life cycle best practices and principles.
• Deep people management skills, with a heavy emphasis on coaching and mentoring, and a proficient ability to influence peers and senior leaders within business and IT.
• Proven ability to resolve difficult people/other issues and mitigate risks that have potential of undermining delivery of critical initiatives.
• Experience working with or managing Cloud, DevOps and regulated environment.
• 10+ years of previous progressive software development experience.
• 5+ years of managing high performing software development teams.

Salary Range: $188,000 – $190,000
