EASYRECRUE Hiring for Manufacturing Machine Mechanic at Mountain, MB Full Time

Job Purpose:
The Shop Floor Mechanic will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, including Industrial Sewing Machines, according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities: *

• Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting, and repairs to production equipment and Sewing Machines
• Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors and/or the Production Manager in a timely manner
• Communicate with Production Manager regarding any downtime or maintenance issues that may affect production
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Perform planned preventative maintenance on production equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program and schedule
• Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and tools
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

Experience, Education and Designations: *

• High School diploma/GED
• 5 years of Maintenance experience preferred
• Sewing machine mechanic certificate, or equivalent.
• Building trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial sewing equipment or similar

• Able to create alternative solutions to problems
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Confident with technology and good computer skills in order to respond to email inquiries and place orders; MS Office and Excel
• Must be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbs
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challenges
• Excellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Ability to evaluate options and generate solutions
• Ability to read blueprints, machines part list and machine manuals
