This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward thinking HR professional to join our progressive HR team. The Human Resources function plays a leading role in the Council’s Strategic Development ensuring that employment considerations are fully understood and accounted for with regard to all service development, structural and cultural change.
You will be a credible, positive and proactive HR practitioner with excellent influencing skills and a good track record of making a positive difference. Working with our managers, providing generalist HR support, you will demonstrate an understanding of their service and provide them with critical HR interventions to enable them to achieve their objectives. In addition you will have opportunities to work on policy development and ad hoc project work during a time of exciting organisational change.
In order to succeed you should be CIPD qualified (Member) and have proven experience of working in a large unionised, multi-faceted organisation. You will have demonstrable experience of supporting managers at a Senior level with restructures, discipline, grievance, harassment, attendance and capability issues. In addition you must be able to interpret employment legislation, policies and procedures and advise on more complex human resource issues such as potential TUPE transfers and redundancy processes.
In return we can offer you an interesting and rewarding place to work and develop your career, in an environment where everyone matters and which puts an extra emphasis on trust and empowerment of staff.
Blended working is available but you will be required to attend the office on occasions.
The position is fixed term to provide cover for secondment for 18 months, and requests for alternative working hours will be considered.
For an informal discussion please contact Julia Snow or Carla Rutherfoord, Head of People Services PA who will direct your enquiry.
