The Finance Manager will ensure that EMR’s management team have the appropriate level of financial reporting and analysis to effectively manage the financial aspects of the business. This role works under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager and includes management of a team of Finance Business Partners to ensure key business analysis activity across EMR is delivered in a consistent, professional manner and optimal business decisions are made.

The Finance Manager will:

• Actively take the lead in the operational delivery of period end management accounting process and production, including reviewing the integrity of financial transactions and preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and take part in period end activities for your areas of responsibility.
• Prepare management and financial information for Senior Finance Manager, ensuring all reporting of financial and management information for all finance matters (business as usual and capital investment) is delivered in a timely manner. Identifying and reporting all risk and opportunities.
• Responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of comprehensive budgets and forecasts (P&L and Capex) for your individual areas of responsibility, ready for inclusion in company level financial models. Understand and follow strategic directives and work with the Finance Business Partners to ensure financial plans are compiled.
• Lead and manage the Finance Business Partners and ensure continued development. Provide support and guidance where required to ensure all deliverables are met.
• Provide support to the Senior Finance team as and when required along with building effective relationships with other functional stakeholders.
• All staff have a responsibility and accountability to ensure that their day-to-day activities support our commitments under the Sustainability Policy Statement and relevant management systems (e.g. ISO14001 or ISO50001); and to act in a sustainable manner and minimise impact on the environment.

The above list is not exhaustive, and on occasion, the role may need to undertake other reasonable requests as required by their line manager, in line with grade and competence.

About you:

You will be a CIMA qualified accountant with demonstrable post qualification experience of financial and budgetary controls and managing a professional finance team.

You will be a motivated team player with a flexible attitude and willing to embrace new challenges to meet multiple conflicting demands and priorities. You will have excellent management and leadership capabilities with the ability to influence whilst working collaboratively.

You will also possess excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines (without compromising quality) during complex periods.
