We are seeking a bookkeeper to assist in laying the financial foundations for our small agency with plans of scaling. Bookkeeper

Part time contract position (~12 hours/week) | Location: Boston, MA or US Remote
(EST time zone)

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner, and submit payroll taxes as applicable, in conjunction with third party payroll service provider

• Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis

• Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner

• Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments

• Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition

• Enter data into QuickBooks online from other platforms within the company (time records, payroll information)

• Import and export data from QBO and other systems via upload, API and middleware tools.

• Assist in setting up new remote employees into the financial systems, including filing paperwork in other states

• Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data

• Scheduled and ad-hoc reports

• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards

Qualifications for Bookkeeper

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3-5 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Compensation

• Negotiable based on qualifications

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 – $70.00 per hour
