Job Description

The Circulation Department is seeking student assistants for the Summer 1 and 2 sessions.

Students working in the department are expected to represent Academic Library Services by providing exemplary customer service both at the front desk and in the stacks. On a daily basis, the assistant will:

• Check in and out materials, answer questions and assist patrons at the front desk
• Re-shelve returned books and equipment
• Pull and process hold requests for books and equipment
• Dust, straighten, and organize the general stacks
• Clean and sanitize study rooms and study areas
• Assist in opening and closing duties for the department as needed
• Assist with shelf-reading, shifting and inventory projects
• Any other special tasks necessary to assist in the day-to-day functions of the department

The Circulation department will be open during the summer months as follows:

Monday-Thursday: 7:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M, Friday: 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Sunday: 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. We are looking for students to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts. Students with flexible schedules and previous customer service experience are encouraged to apply.
