Job Summary:

We are looking for a Tutor to join our company to assist students with their studies and ensure they are confident & competent going into their exams.

A Tutor is responsible for helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments. They prepare lessons by studying lesson plans, reviewing textbooks in detail to understand the topic they will be teaching and providing additional projects if needed during a session.

You will work directly with students to assist them in gaining a better understanding of their specified subject/ subjects. You will promote a positive learning environment and ensure the student is fully prepared for exams.

Functions and Responsibilities (People and Processes):

• Creating lesson plans for the students
• Assessing students on their existing ability in a subject area
• Creating a schedule for further education and development in subject areas
• Assessing a student’s level of progress within a subject and identifying areas for improvement
• Providing mock examinations or tests to prepare students for real exams
• Reviewing student’s homework assignments and test scores and working through problem questions that the student did not answer correctly
• Providing support for students during their examinations and studies
• Keeping up-to-date on the current curriculum and latest teaching trends
• Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the subject being taught
• Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and build a curriculum
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
• Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills
• Collaborate effectively with parents and the organisation to increase student performance
• Attend periodic CPD meetings.

No formal qualifications are required but we would expect the successful candidate to have a sufficient level of education and also previous experience in a similar role.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £15.00-£22.00 per hour

Education:

• A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• PGCE Qualification (preferred)
