Position Summary

Serves as the Education Manager with the responsibility for the operation, integration, coordination, and oversight of training, curriculum, and programming at your assigned school. Coordinates and collaborates with Early Learning and Inclusion Directors at all schools, the other Education Managers, and the Training and Curriculum Coordinator. Collaboratively provides consistent training across all programs. Provides oversight to all aspects of the implementation of curriculum and programming at the designated school where assigned. This includes the planning, organizing, and implementation of professional development and training of early learning staff for the school. These services contribute to an increased quality of the educational environment, and allow children to maximize their learning. The Education Manager will be responsible for supporting and engaging early learning staff, in individual and small group formats, and building their capacity to promote school readiness of children in their classrooms. Additionally, the Education Manager will oversee and supervise the Student Success Coordinator and Art Coordinator at their assigned school to ensure integrated curriculum at all levels of the program.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Provides input into the training budget to the Early Learning Director and Inclusion Director at their assigned school for the EarlystART budget to include foundation and on-going training costs, resource and professional supplies, equipment and materials, training related costs, and conference registration fees.
• Assists in maintaining MOA and NAEYC accreditation.
• Supervises the Arts Coordinator and the Student Success Coordinator.
• Coordinates the functions of this with a strong understanding of the Head Start Performance Standards and the component plans; Head Start, DRDP, CLASS, Creative Curriculum/Project Approach; Conscious Discipline and thorough knowledge and application of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
• Together with the Early Learning and Inclusion Directors, and Training and Curriculum Coordinator designs, administers, and conducts Orientation Training, Annual ongoing state and federal training requirements.
• Ensures regular written observations are created and maintained and reviewed for the annual training plan and works closely with the Training and Curriculum Coordinator for coordination and documentation.
• Ensures and supports individual staff members in identifying their training needs, and improving their knowledge and abilities; to develop and implement the Teacher Professional Development Plan using a curriculum framework that includes ITERS/ECERS, CLASS, Creative Curriculum, Project Approach and Conscious Discipline.
• Provide intensive, individualized coaching to at least two teachers and two teaching teams per week using the coaching model identified by EarlystART.
• Ensures coordination of weekly collaborative planning and communities of practice.
• Ensure the completion of or coordinate two times per year CLASS observations with written feedback.
• Maintains the CLASS assessment scores to be utilized for grant reporting and creating training plans.
• Ensure the completion of EHS/HS Classroom Observation and Creative Curriculum Fidelity Tool on each classroom twice per year
• Assist in monitoring all classroom practices – room arrangement, lesson plans, daily schedules, routines, and transitions to assure their adherence to Head Start and program policies.
• Assist in identifying and prioritizing materials and equipment needed in classrooms and playgrounds, and coordinate with the Early Learning and Inclusion Director in making purchases.
• Assist with transition from EHS to HS and document the transition of children to kindergarten.
• Assist and support classroom teachers with challenging behaviors (i.e. developing behavior support plans and training).
• Supports and monitors coaches’ caseloads to ensure collection of evidence in children’s portfolio documentation in Learning Genie, rating children progress. Prepare aggregated child outcome reports and share data with teaching staff, administrators, families and governing bodies.
• Support and monitor completion of parent teacher conferences and home visits. Ensure accurate record keeping.
• Spot checks lesson plans weekly for fidelity.
• Maintain CLASS Certification.
• Acting as a liaison in collaboration with community ECE Providers.
• Attend HS ECC Meetings/Tier II meetings.
• Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with staff. Including the ability to effectively communicate, listen, and empathize with others.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all staff.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field
• At least 30 credit hours in early childhood education
• Experience teaching children aged 0-5 years old
• Preferred: Master’s in Education, Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• Preferred: 2-3 years of experience in an early childhood position coaching

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Excessive climbing, walking, bending, stretching and sitting on floor with children
• Exposure to childhood illnesses and diseases
• Exposure to varying outside temperatures (heat and cold)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
