About This Role: We are a young non-profit organization looking for a founding team to grow with our organization. Our aim is to transform the landscape of early childhood education in New Orleans. We are looking for forever learners who are excited to learn as much as their kids do! We believe that early learning teachers are engaged in critical work and offer compensation competitive with K12 schools.

We will are expanding our current operation (two classrooms of 3-year-olds) to a new location in the Lower Garden District. This new facility will be home to 75 total children, from 1-year-olds through PreK4. We are looking for teachers for every age group.

Teacher Development at Early Partners: Our teachers never stop learning and never stop growing. Here’s how:

• We provide ongoing, individualized support from a designated Instructional leader at the center. Teachers have weekly professional development and 1:1 coaching.

• We use observation and documentation of children’s work and play as a tool to more deeply understand their learning and development.
• Teachers document children’s learning process, analyze this documentation, and develop plans to more deeply engage learners.
• Teachers have designated time to collaborate, observe each other’s classes, and meet to analyze student work and learning documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Overview

• Lead and Associate Teachers are equal creative partners and co-lead work inside the classroom with kids.
• Lead Teachers will be held accountable for deliverables, including but not limited to documentation, unit/lesson plans, formal communication to families, and compliance reporting.
• All Teammates at Early Partners are expected to develop strong, positive relationships with children, families, and our learning community.
• All Teachers are expected to collaborate inside and across classrooms in support of the mission.

Support of Children

• Work with a class of between 12-20 children (class size varies by age group), including leading brief periods of whole group time.
• Support the overall developmental needs of children, with an emphasis on social-emotional development, language and literacy development.
• Lead the creation of a physical learning environment that facilitates investigation, exploration, and creativity.
• Lead small groups to facilitate deeper learning and conversation.

Communication with Families

• Provide formal communication with families (weekly documentation for families via an online platform including photos, written blog, and video).
• Provide informal communication with families as needed (e.g. text, call, BW message).
• Organize and run parent/family meetings as needed.
• Schedule and run Family Orientation meetings.
• Write progress reports and schedule parent/family conferences 2x a year.
• Occasionally attend Family engagement events outside of school hours.

Documentation & Planning

• Closely observe and document children’s learning through photos, notes, video, etc…
• Develop student-centered discussions, activities, and projects based on these observations and documentation.
• Prepare and present at Documentation Meetings.
• Display documentation panels to be viewed by our community and visitors to illustrate the learning process of children and our approach to learning.

Compliance & Reporting

• Complete safety and compliance related documents (e.g. incident reports, daily check, etc…)
• Complete data entry for TS-GOLD in accordance to LDOE guidelines.

• Give and receive feedback to make the organization more aligned to our vision, values, and mission.
• Actively participate in all team meetings including but not limited to: Morning Meeting, Weekly Professional & Leadership Development, Documentation & Collaboration Meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years of experience a preschool, PreK, or early learning setting.

Compensation:

• Starting salary is based on previous experience ranging from $45,000-$54,000.
• Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance, maternity leave, paid school holidays, and 10 days of flexible PTO.
