32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm
Required: one as soon as possible and one in January 2023

We are extremely proud to have recently had our ARP provision accredited by the National Autistic Society (July 2022). We are passionate about inclusive and integrated provision for children in our ARP, and are currently working with Ealing SEND department to begin offering outreach work to other local mainstream primary schools to help ensure equality of provision for children with ASD across the authority.

Are you a strong primary school teaching assistant with experience of working with children who have Autism? We have two exciting and challenging opportunities to work in our well established Additional Resourced Provision (ARP) for children with Autism. We opened two specialist classrooms in September 2018, one for children in Reception and Key Stage 1 and one for KS2 children, which proved so successful we expanded the unit in September 2020 to three classes. One vacancy is in our KS2 class, and one is in our Reception/ Year 1 class.

We place a high value on the work of all support staff at Coston Primary School, our teaching assistants are known as teaching partners because of the collaborative and team-based approach we have to meeting the needs of our children.

About you

You will have:

• Have GCSE (grade 5 and above) in English and Maths
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of child development;
• Have relevant and up-to-date experience of working with children with SEND in schools
• Have experience of teaching children with autism
• Be fully committed to learning from and contributing to a team;
• Have excellent communication skills to engage children, parents and colleagues;
• Have a First Aid qualification (or be prepared to attain one)
• Be very well organised.
