Eagle Academy Public Charter School Hiring for General Education Resource Teacher Job at Washington, DC Full Time

The General Education Resource Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students in the absence of the classroom teacher, and providing support in other classrooms as needed. When applicable, the General Education Resource Teacher may be asked to go to another campus to provide support in a classroom or to cover another long-term leave. If there is a vacancy, the General Education Resource Teacher will receive priority consideration to transition into a Lead Teacher role.

Reports to: Campus Principal

Supervises: None

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with Lead Teachers and Instructional Leadership team to design appropriate and rigorous lessons.
• Implements lesson plans as constructed by the Instructional Leadership team.
• Perform clerical duties, as required, relating to textbooks, instructional supplies, student reports and records, attendance reports, etc.
• Implement the school-wide and classroom management policies and practice
• Other duties as assigned by (supervisor)

• Knowledge and experience with effective instructional and behavioral methods and strategies for educating urban youth.
• Intellectual agility, a commitment to maintaining rigorous standards, and a demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute on multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Innovative, creative and collaborative thinker
• Basic computing skills and working knowledge in the area of classroom technology

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
• Minimum of two years of successful teaching or co-teaching experience in a traditional public school or public charter school required, preferably within an urban school setting.

Salary: $50,000 plus benefits
