Daily Tasks

• Monitor and control microgrid systems to ensure optimal performance and look for any trends that may indicate technical problems.
• Recommend actions that will result in system, platform, and asset optimization.
• Respond to any system alarms and initiate appropriate troubleshooting response procedures.
• Respond to any cybersecurity incidents and coordinate remediation activities with the appropriate stakeholders.
• Review status and confirm readiness of systems in preparation for severe weather events.
• Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled repair/recovery actions by service providers. Complete after-action s on significant incidents to ensure knowledge base is formed.
• Provide daily s to ASX Operations Team on system status, faults, and actions taken.
• Maintain digital logbook of all applicable microgrid activities (system changes, maintenance, repairs, alarms, troubleshooting, etc.).

Periodic Tasks (Weekly, Monthly, Semi-annual, Annual)

• Oversee on-site maintenance activities in real-time. Account for personnel on site, monitor and adjust system configuration, ensure proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) is in place and ensure system is returned to normal configuration at completion of maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate on-site activities with site owners, service providers, and ASX Operations Management including scheduled maintenance actions, inspections, and material delivery and disposal.
• Coordinate with local utilities during system configuration changes or unforeseen incidents which may have an impact on utility infrastructure or site load.
• Review and update NOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and site-specific Operating Plans annually or as required to ensure best practices are implemented.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct operational tests of each microgrid system according to the test plan/schedule.
• Enter records of all maintenance and test activities into the Dynamics database.
• Oversee and maintain cybersecurity controls during asset manufacturer and service provider inbound control signals and firmware uploads in accordance with vendor requirements and cybersecurity standards.

Other Tasks (as required)

• Support creation of 5-Phase Testing/Commissioning Plans for all new projects being deployed with operations-related input and best practices.
• Ensure new projects are configured correctly in microgrid software programs (EcoStruxure, AVEVA) by supporting the Digital Services team during project design phase.
• Create and/or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs) for each new microgrid project.
• Create/configure microgrid system analytical s and Dashboards for various stakeholders (ASX leadership, customers, utilities, investors, etc.) using EcoStruxure and other software programs.

Required:

• Two-year Associate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
• Four or more years of experience in fast-paced operations and emergency management.
• Familiarity with microgrids, energy generation, transmission, distribution, and control systems.
• Ability to plan and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities with site owners, service providers, and upper management.
• Ability to analyze data quickly, determine and prioritize issues, and prepare and manage action plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience creating and maintaining operational processes and procedures.
• Driven, self-starter.

Preferred:

• Experience configuring software applications to manage operations of an energy system.
• Experience creating digital s and Dashboards.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 products and Asite document management software.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and root cause analysis methods (ISO 9001 standards and 8D problem solving method).

EDUCATION:

Associate degree in engineering or a related field; additional qualifications in operations management.
