MINIMUM MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

1) Have a completed Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other Physical Science with demonstrated academic software focus

-AND-

2) Have resume-described experience developing software using C, C++, Java, or python from one of the following:
a) Relevant Internship(s), or Coursework & applied Academic Projects -OR-
b) Jr: Up to 4 years of post-graduate professional applied experience

c) Mid: 5+ years of post-graduate professional applied experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(in addition to the above minimum requirements)

• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• Experience with Angular JS framework
• Experience with tools such as Gradle and Docker
• Candidates should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills

DESCRIPTION

DAS is seeking software engineers from entry through mid-level experience to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software development on projects supporting various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. Projects will entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of training simulation systems. This position offers the opportunities for supporting full-stack software development on leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems. Efforts include all phases of the software development life-cycle conducted via an Agile Kanban software development process. Our current focused hiring need is for those with capabilities and experience in Angular JS, but our systems make use of multiple languages including C, boost C++, Java, and Python, and other tools including Gradle and Docker.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze technology/capability gaps; research, develop, and deploy software solutions.
• Work with project leads to define sprints and associated deliverables

• Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code

• Conduct integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities
• Assist in the creation of technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software

SALARY NOTES

The salary range provided covers multiple experience levels. Salaries offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and breadth of capability.

JOB LOCATION

• Successful candidates will start on-site at the NSWC in Carderock, MD.
• Depending on team workload, employee work location may be moved to our McLean, VA corporate facility

• Regardless of primary location, there may be occasions when employees will temporarily work at the alternate location

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
