About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an L&D professional to join durhamlane. You will be passionate about people development and training and therefore will provide an effective, first class service; delivering expert training across the business, be instrumental in developing the L&D strategy and be a key part of implementing that strategy.

Job Description

Summary:
The Learning & Development Manager will have full accountability of the durhamlane training, learning and development programmes across the business whilst serving its team to grow and develop skills. You will be instrumental in developing the L&D strategy whilst driving the design and delivery of Induction, Onboarding and Training programmes on a range of subject matters particularly leadership, sales, customer service, marketing, new business, performance coaching, durhamlane culture and values and soft skills.

Responsibilities:

Training:

• Develop and implement training programs: Use your understanding of our objectives to create ideal training programs for all employees.
• Create relevant and up to date content. Regularly evaluate existing programs and content making sure it is fit for purpose and adding value to the company.
• Liaise with department heads and leadership team to address challenges, concerns and to drive operational improvements in durhamlane processes.
• Ensure all required training and learning is delivered on a monthly basis.
• Build a team of trainers. Conduct training trainer workshops to ensure training, scalability and effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain L&D communication across durhamlane to ensure that employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.

Induction:

• Support HR to design and implement induction programs for all new starters.

Onboarding:

• Assess and develop onboarding plans for all areas of the business.
• Work with the People Onboarding Manager to ensure sales onboarding training is effective and relevant, adapt as necessary.
• Collaborate with other Managers to develop and effectively administer role specific onboarding plans for new starters within their team.

Performance and Coaching

• Support managers with the performance management process and capability assessments across durhamlane.
• Plan end-to-end development programs according to organisational requirements.
• Deploy a variety of learning interventions companywide, including coaching, job shadowing, and online training to effectively develop requisite competencies.
• Conduct organisational needs analysis and create training plans to ensure all employees have the required competencies to excel in their roles.
• Empower the management team to coach and support their teams effectively.
• Drive a culture of continuous professional development.

Monitor & Retrain:

• Monitor the success of training, induction, onboarding and development programs and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.

External Business and Relationships:

• Track budgets and negotiate contracts: we may need to outsource training programs to third-party providers.
• Understand the needs of the wider business, explore and recommend appropriate programs you are unable to deliver, in accordance with an agreed budget.
• Source and recommend third party providers and other external partners to deliver learning solutions to our clients.
