Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs daily inspection and ensures that machine is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• s to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair.
• Work closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Excavates trenches observing safety rules, sometimes with workers in the trench.
• Must excavate around utility lines with precision to avoid damage to lines and ensure safety of personnel in trench.
• Change Tool/Bucket
• Place and remove trench box safely
• Connect pipe: the operator is required to maneuver/connect pipes to each other by sliding or pulling pipes together.
• Place and move manholes in trench.
• Keeping equipment clean and preparing equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
• Follow Supervisor s instructions closely.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understand and adhere to trench safety regulations.
• Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• MSHA | OSHA
• Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Eastern Dakotas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
• Travel is required.
