TALENT DEVELOPMENT &
TRAINING MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Talent Development & Training Manager is to improve the productivity of the organization’s employees. Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all levels of staff. Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate and consult with the Director of Talent Development & Training
• Develop, maintain, and revise materials and systems for hourly employee, Supervisor, and Management training programs.
• Supervise participants in MIT program from orientation to completion by tracking, reviewing, and validating completion of all program components.
• Maintain records and prepare statistical reports to evaluate performance and monitor progress of trainees.
• Execute store/site visits to perform training and operational audits, inspections, process improvement observations, and provide detailed written reports for review by regional leadership team.
• Facilitate classroom sessions to present training information.
• Facilitate and/or aid in the coordination of training programs for all employees.
• Confer with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
• Assess training needs through interviews with employees and/or consultations with management staff.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, facilitators, and liaisons.
• Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems/equipment, and coordinating enrollments along with managing the Operations Training process.
• Make suggestions on improving work procedures and processes.
• Ensure professional service is always provided in accordance with the expectations and guidelines of the HR department.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• 5 to 7 years of Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, or related experience and/or training.
• Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources Education, Business Administration or related field of expertise required.
• SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Work requires a solid knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language to effectively communicate with management, associates, and customers.
• Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Skilled in needs assessment and development of appropriate training programs.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Must demonstrate an ability to think strategically, plan and organize effectively.
• Must be able to maintain an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations.
• Work requires outstanding communication and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Results driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills. Project management, time management, analytical and superior organizational skills required.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, multi-task, set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands, from multiple sources.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with the ability to use compassion and diplomacy.

• The ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office products is required.
• This position requires up to 50% travel.
