Onboarding Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated, well-spoken Onboarding Specialist to join our HR department. The responsibilities of the Onboarding Specialist include establishing clear communication with the Recruiting team regarding all potential candidates coming onboard. Once the potential candidate is deemed as hirable by the Recruiter, the Onboarding Specialist will then send the candidate all required Onboarding paperwork. Once the candidate is cleared for work and all required paperwork is received, the Onboarding Specialist will reach out to the candidate and schedule them for Orientation and communicate the next steps. This individual will be required to familiarize themselves with all company policies and will assist both the Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Manager with any extra duties within the Human Resources Department (filing, events, walk-ins), etc.

As an Onboarding Specialist, you should have strong knowledge of California labor laws and experience with HR practices. Ultimately, a top-notch Onboarding Specialist should be a great communicator with a flair for interacting with new people. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager.

Onboarding Specialist Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of the policies that detail company operations.

• Communicating with new hires, via email/text/phone with details about the next steps once hired.

• Welcoming new hires with prepared Orientation kits and a tour.

• Proper introductions of new hires to appropriate team members.

• Providing new hires with guidelines, and passwords, as needed.

• Detailing all new hires’ initial tasks and answering any queries.

• Providing and directing new hires the information the need so that they have the necessary technical assistance to set up their hardware and software.

• Gathering and checking all Onboarding and Orientation paperwork.

• Creating employee files to department stands and filing all paperwork related to new hires.

• Arranging/editing/updating company demos and presentations as it relates to Orientation.

Onboarding Specialist Requirements:

• A bachelor’s or associate degree in human resources management or a related field.

• 7 years experience as an Onboarding Specialist or in a similar HR role.

• Experience with HR software, such as HRIS, MS Office, and Google docs.

• Experience with ATS and resume databases.

• Good working knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation.

• Knowledge of Ca Labor Laws is a must

• The ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must

• Strong teamwork skills.

• Good organizational and time management skills are a must

• Bilingual a plus

• You must be 21 years old or older to qualify for this position.

• A Livescan (a fingerprint background check) will be required.

Salary: $62,400 + DOE
