About the Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing HR systems across Drax. These systems enable us to manage our colleague data and provide the backbone for many HR processes, so getting the most out of them is essential.
The role has a strong internal focus, but you’ll also work with external providers to resolve issues, discuss product improvements and manage implementations, so you’ll need to be great at communicating.
Your primary focus will be Cascade – our current core HR system. You’ll be responsible for fixing issues, troubleshooting, managing change requests and driving continuous improvement. Some system enhancements are led by the business, but many will be initiated by you as a member of the HR Systems team. So, you need to be great at spotting opportunities, and have the creativity to work out how to make them into reality.
You’ll manage large-scale HR activities such as mail merges, pay review cycles, holiday year-end and organisational changes.
You’ll also support the systems in which we manage our learning, resourcing, performance and benefits, including system integrations.

About You
You’ll need experience working with HR systems and processes (Cascade would be great but we know we might be asking a lot, so we’re flexible on what HR systems you’ve worked with). This will be combined with the ability to simplify complex problems and processes.
You’ll need to be a strong communicator, liaising with IT colleagues on technical issues and with HR colleagues on processes. Written communication will be key as you’ll need to produce user guides and processes documentation, as well as contribute to business cases and papers.
You’ll be great with data, and have a good understanding of data privacy and security. You’ll also have experience of interpreting and presenting data, to enable sound business and people decisions.
