Downie Timber Ltd is Looking for Summer Production Labourer Full Time

Downie Timber Ltd., a division of the Gorman Group, is a forest harvesting and lumber manufacturing business located in Revelstoke, in British Columbia. At Downie Timber, we produce multi species wood products and quality cedar.

We are accepting applications for temporary summer workers for our production clean-up. This position will support our operations during the summer months. The duties will include cleaning saw dust and dust debris around machine centers, clearing areas of debris and wood, using wheelbarrows, chain saws amongst other tools, and piling lumber in a fast-pace, machine-driven setting. Applicants are required to work shift work and be available for all shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to perform repetitive, physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time and in varying weather conditions
• Able to work safely under the pressure of production equipment
• Experience with and/or around machinery and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Be available to work Graveyard, Day and/or Afternoon shifts, on short notice
• Able to work in a team setting
• Reliable transportation to/from work
