Finance Manager – Water Services Operations

ABOUT US:

Downer Water Services, a division of Downer Utilities is set for tremendous growth and as a result is seeking a Finance Manager – Operations in a Full Time, permanent capacity based in NSW.

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Finance Manager – Water Services, this role presents an excellent career opportunity for a finance professional to influence the financial and strategic outcomes of an ever-growing and profitable organisation. As a solution focused and team orientated leader, you will be instrumental in the development of a small and high performing team ensuring optimal financial outcomes for both small and large contracts.

Some of the responsibilities for the role include:
Partner with Program/Project Managers to deliver quality financial deliverables and outcomes.

Oversee and contribute to the preparation of project and operational budgets.

Support non-finance operational managers in maximising recovery of project costs in a timely manner.

Support bid and tender preparation and review for viability.

Adhere to contractual timeframes, review debtor and WIP balances to ensure working capital is optimised.

ABOUT YOU

A strong track record of financial/project accounting experience within a large, complex organisation (Construction industry experience highly regarded).

Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting or Commerce, CPA or CA membership.

A high level of commercial acumen and the ability to understand contracting environments.

Significant exposure to ERP systems (JDE advantageous but not essential).

A strategic propensity and the desire to lead, guide and coach a team of varying levels of experience and qualifications.
