Downer offers a range of services for the utility sector, incorporating traditional power and gas, renewable energy, and technological communications services.

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Finance Manager – Power Systems: Utilities, this role presents an excellent career opportunity for a finance professional ensuring reporting and controls are strategically implemented and maintained. You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely reporting for the division, optimal financial outcomes.

Some of the responsibilities for the role include:
Partner with our business to deliver quality financial deliverables and outcomes.

Oversee and contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring controls are in place and monitored.

Lead or support project financial management, systems and process improvements for the division.

End of month reporting: Responsible for monthly general ledger through to Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for all Power Systems entities

Preparation of divisional reporting: budgeting, forecasting and analysis on variances

Improve the financial understanding of non-financial employees

ABOUT YOU

Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting or Commerce

Completed or partially completed CPA or CA

A strong track record of financial/operational accounting experience within a large, complex organisation

A high level of commercial acumen and the ability to understand contracting environments

Experience in the Project Accounting, Project Cost Control in Construction environment / projects (advantageous)
