Plant/Area:
We are looking for Cavern Technician in Stratton Ridge Operations at Oyster Creek, Texas.
Stratton Ridge Operations stores transfers raw materials and products between a significant number of Texas Operations manufacturing plants and mines salt reserves to provide treated brine to all chlorine production facilities in Texas Operations. Stratton Ridge’s assets cover approximately 3,200 acres along Stratton Ridge Road east of Clute, Texas and the facility is part of Dow’s Mining, Storage, and Pipeline (MSP) value center within the Hydrocarbons & Energy Business.
About You:
You would be responsible for operating assigned process areas of the Stratton Ridge Operations (SRO) site in a safe and optimal manner. You would be required to perform operations-related activities as per the job role description in the Operate Work Plant Process.

- Operates and field checks idle caverns Monitor cavern pressures and relieve pressure to maintain cavern field integrity
- Manage cavern workover (turnaround) activities – oil field rig work
- Performs tasks assigned to operations as per Task List (equipment preparation for third party to cavern sonars, pad seal logs, mechanical integrity test.)
- Ensures cavern activities and process performance are aligned with Stratton Ridge Operations, business goals and regulatory requirements
- Follows and helps create Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned process areas
- Monitors, collects and inputs plant data for asset utilization, conversion, and production
Required qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
AND ONE of the following is also required:
- An Associate’s degree or above in Process Technology, Instrumentation/Electrical, Computer Technology, or other technology field
- 4 or more years of military experience technical in nature
- 5 or more years of process operator/process technician experience in the chemical industry
- Be able to work occasional weekends and some overtime as needed
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must have a current, valid, United States driver license to drive a forklift and a company vehicle
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
- Wear and use respirators
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 55 lbs
- Our safety equipment has weight restrictions. To qualify, you must be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less
Your preferred qualifications include:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:
- Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately
- Has strong troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrate leadership skills – inspire others and lead them through influence
- Able to work with independently with minimal supervision with in an empowered team environment
- Safety focused
- Able to read, write, and speak English.
Additional Notes:
The job is a day job with a 4-10 schedule 6:00 – 4:30. About 20% OT Work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position This position does not offer relocation assistance
