Dove House School Academy is the lead school for the Basingstoke Alliance SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training).

Our vision is to train human-first teachers in the latest research informed pedagogy, in order to provide the local community with passionate and confident teachers who enhance the life chances of our children.

Here at The Basingstoke Alliance SCITT through our collaborative partnership of schools and post-16 settings we provide a unique school based initial teacher training programme led by Dove House School Academy, an outstanding special school. We enable our trainees to develop a SEN specialism which will provide an excellent knowledge base for employment both in mainstream and special school environments.

You will need:

• A relevant good degree of a UK HE institution in National Curriculum core or foundation subject (other degrees and overseas qualifications with appropriate content will be considered alongside relevant experience);
• Appropriate ‘A’ level or equivalent qualifications;
• Grade 4+ (or equivalent) in GCSE Mathematics and English;
• Confidence in using appropriate ICT skills;
• Ability to travel between different training locations within the partnership schools;
