The Role

• This is a new and exciting role in a new line of business. As such, we are looking for a versatile, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial-minded Accountant who thrives under pressure and is willing to learn on the fly. The Accountant’s objective is to act as the outsourced accounting resource for Door 417’s clients and serve them in accordance with Door 417’s values. This is a full-time and remote position.

The Work

This role is accountable for fulfilling the client’s outsourced accounting needs, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Participate in the weekly operations meeting. Each week we meet as a team to share wins and collaboratively solve issues. Your participation in this process is critical to the success of the team.
• Fulfill bookkeeping and tax support needs for Door 417’s clients. The primary function of this role, you’ll work hand-in-hand with a consistent set of advertising & marketing agency clients to:

• Prepare and record journal entries and accruals.

• Perform detailed analyses of P&L accounts and Balance Sheet.

• Process daily cash receipts and bank reconciliations.

• Process A/P through Bill.com twice per week.

• Prepare monthly review and analysis of A/P, A/R, and WIP

• Complete monthly client billing process.

• Assist with package input for monthly results and forecasts as well as other reporting requirements.

• Manage monthly write-offs and time maintenance activities.

• Participate in ongoing accounting process improvement. Each week we work not only to deliver bookkeeping and accounting services to our clients, but also to improve the process of how we conduct that work. You’ll work both internally and with clients to continuously improve the bookkeeping and accounting process.

Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the annual tax return filing process for our clients. The ultimate objective is to deliver accurate and on time outsourced accounting to our clients to enable them to run their businesses effectively.

The Requirements
In order for this role to operate effectively, the following basic requirements must be met:

• Previous experience in the advertising & marketing (or related) industry.

• Previous experience with intercompany accounting at an agency or managing a book of bookkeeping and tax clients either independently or within a firm.

• Be available and responsive during normal business hours (9am-5pm Central Time, Monday-Friday).

• Have a strong, consistent internet connection and a professional work environment that allows for video calls.

• Have rock solid proficiency with QuickBooks and the full Google Suite of products.

• Have a demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and software, as well as learn independently when necessary.

• Have clear professional written/verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, partners, vendors, and internal team members alike.

• Have high organizational standards and a calm and friendly, yet unrelenting follow-up focus in order to ensure work gets done on time.

Preferred, but not required qualifications include:

• Direct previous experience managing outsourced accounting and tax engagements in a remote environment.

• Sales or customer service experience directly interacting with clients or customers.

• Experience with the following platforms and their integrations: Bill.com, Strata, Workday, EAS, MediaOcean Toast, Gusto, Paychex, ADP.

• Experience using monday.com or similar remote project management tools (e.g. Trello, Podio, Asana, Wrike, Smartsheet, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
