What does a typical day look like?

As Accounts Clerk you will be responsible for assisting the Financial Accountant deal with preparation of monthly statements and summary reports and general balance sheet reviews of our client accounts. Assisting the Finance team with general ledger duties that may include checking journals, reconciliations, and contributing to month end reports.

What are your responsibilities?

• Provide internal checking on all catering documentation supplied and identifies discrepancies / inconsistencies
• Address discrepancies / inconsistencies with suppliers and caterers and ensures follow up in a timely manner
• Ensure month end reporting deadlines and checks are met
• Preparation of detailed management submission packs
• Review of balance sheet accounts, checking for any discrepancies
• Prepare monthly financial summary reports
• Post month end Accounting journals
• Assist in preparing BAS, payroll, tax return and FBT return preparations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensure accuracy of data
• Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by Senior Management

What do you need to be successful in securing this role?

• Demonstrated success in a similar role
• Experience in Accounting ideally with both Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Accuracy and very high attention to detail
• Good phone manner & communication skills
• Ability to solve problems on a timely manner
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Demonstrates strong organisational / time management skills
• Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment
• Sound knowledge of the catering industry would be a plus
