Disney Hiring for Senior Engineer, Product Integrity at Glendale, CA Full Time

The Product Integrity department manages the safety and compliance of products being sold or distributed with Disney brands, characters and other intellectual property. Our corporate Product Integrity group is staffed with experienced engineers and safety professionals around the world verifying product compliance. We are uniquely positioned to have an impact on Guest interaction with the Disney brand around the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform design reviews and risk assessments for select category products.

• Perform compliance product review for all assigned business units.

• Review Product packaging and labeling for language content/safety and regulatory issues.

• Provide disposition of testing s and communicate same to affected parties clearly and in a timely manner.

• Review, prepare and create working procedures to meet programs of new buyers.

• Notify stakeholders including applicable vendors of upcoming changes to buyer’s product compliance requirements, regulatory changes, and Product Guideline revisions.

• Communicate with testing laboratories and suppliers to ensure clarity of test requirements and appropriate testing is performed.

• Develop and maintain PI program enhancements, including chemical management and periodic testing plans, for the assigned categories

• Maintain and update Disney Technical Product specifications, as required (Product Guidelines, Test Protocol, etc.)

• Track trends in Guest complaints and injuries

• Communicate internationally with buying teams on design considerations from a safety standpoint.

• Provide applicable vendors training on Product Integrity processes, regulations and design requirements.

• Maintain effective work relationships by partnering with assigned Disney Sourcing groups and Buyers, worldwide, to ensure a high quality and safe product is delivered within cost and on time

• Act as a technical resource and safety consultant to Disney Sourcing, Brand Merchandising, Central Creative, and suppliers regarding appropriate statutory, regulatory, and Disney product safety requirements for specific types of merchandise

• Work with management to develop and maintain department’s standard operating procedures and technical databases

Experience:

• 4 or more years in consumer product compliance and safety

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Working knowledge of international consumer product regulations

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA., is $122,940 to $150,260 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
