Discord Hiring for Engineering Manager – Platform Engineering at Remote (U.S.) Full Time

You will

• Partner with strong technical leads to define the roadmap and vision for the team
• Tackle interesting scaling and automation challenges
• Delight our customers while defining the team’s operating rhythm
• Build robust and scalable traffic management solutions
• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to simplify our service- and production-change-management infrastructure
• Own the vendor relationships for third-party tooling and services (eg. Datadog, PagerDuty, Cloudflare)
• Take an active role in the technical direction of our services
• Ensure Discord just works

You need

• 4+ years of experience as a Software / Site Reliability Engineer
• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
• Experience leading projects requiring coordination across many teams
• Experience building high-performing teams
• Interest in cloud infrastructure and a desire to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Additional Information

• Our systems are written in Python and Rust
• We deploy our infrastructure in Google Cloud and Cloudflare
• The team is distributed, with some people working in the Bay Area and others working remotely across North America

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000 to $233,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
