The Role:

Are you a Microsoft stack expert with a passion for technology? We are looking for a number of Software Engineers to join our creative and dedicated teams here at Direct Line Group.

As an Engineer you will play a key role in a multi-functional agile team, providing technical expertise in the ongoing support and enhancement of our market leading Travel insurance platform.

You will be part of a team that own this service through the whole lifecycle from build to run. We work closely with our business partners to ensure they get the best experience possible and are best able to service our customers 24/7 x 365.

What we’re looking for:

A dedicated and ambitious Microsoft stack expert to work on our Travel insurance applications and integrations. You will have experience in building and supporting Microsoft-based applications and ideally responsive and engaging, customer-facing web portals

You will need experience in several of the following:

• .NET, SQL, C#

• JavaScript, Angular and Typescript

• Integration and API development

• Service& Incident management

• Release Management & DevOps

• Data Migration

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum + Kanban)

• Any exposure to AWS and other cloud technologies is a bonus!

Who you’ll be working with:

As part of the Engineering Chapter, you will be working with Engineering Chapter Leads and other Software Engineers on adopting industry standard methodologies in Agile software development.

As a member of the cross-functional squad you will be contributing towards team objectives and key results for our business delivering platforms with the customer at the heart of its focus.

You will also work closely with wider DLG teams to ensure the platform complies with the appropriate guidelines, controls, and technology strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

• Active participant / recipient of knowledge transfer with our 3rd party vendor to take full ownership of the current Travel platform.

• Inputting to and following establishing appropriate SDLC processes with recommended set of Tools, Frameworks and Technologies to take-on, maintain and operate the service in DLG

• Producing solution designs and participating in code reviews and or any other development and squad ceremonies

• Developing new features, integrations and APIs as required including unit testing to support business objectives

• Supporting testing activities (integration, functional, non-functional, UAT) as required as part of squad delivery work

• Collaborate and connect with Engineering Chapter (Community of Software Engineers).

• Working with the wider squad to support Production operations, providing 1st – 3rd line technical support, root cause investigation and fixes, including occasional out of hours working to address incidents and releases
