Job Description
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Home based with frequent travel to offices
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 p.a. DOE + car allowance

What you’ll be doing:
Operational
Development and implementation of an HR Policy review framework with a strong focus on equality and diversity, good practice and compliance, whilst monitoring future policy developments
Monitor employment legislation developments, assess the impact and develop processes and a communication plan to maintain compliance
Coach and develop team members into a high performing and effectual proactive team within the business
Support the team and line managers with operational employee relations matters, TUPE and employment tribunals to minimise business risk
Enable and empower managers to make decisions within the people lifecycle and support them on their development and understanding of people policies and processes
Act as a 2nd line escalation route for complex queries within the team, escalating, in the first instance, any complex (unresolved) matters to the Head of Talent and People Development that present high risk
Contribute and lead on a multitude of people activities to drive business performance and influence change across the business
Use management information, HR stats and feedback to identify opportunities to improve both business performance and employee satisfaction
Fully immerse yourself as a team player in this team and the wider DWS team, and this means helping others when required and you might be asked to help with ad-hoc things from time to time, such as projects or work-related ‘stuff’
Leadership
Build honest, open and challenging business relationships which can be leveraged to make things happen
Adapt to the changing needs of the business and take on any new responsibilities relevant to the core nature of the role accordingly
Support team growth through regular open conversations, providing in the moment coaching and feedback where appropriate
Carry out regular and inclusive team meetings
Ensure the team are up to date with all training requirements and working with each team member identify any future development needs
Demonstrate leadership and act as a positive role model in line with our brand and culture
Proactively collaborate with all stakeholders across the group
Quality
Creation of meaningful monthly KPI reporting clearing showing key people data, including but not limited to; real time data of pipeline for new joiners, live disciplinaries, grievances, SIPs, sickness absence, leavers (good and bad), risk assessments linked to DBS checks and compliance against ISO and policy framework
Maintain awareness of regulations associated with ISO compliance and ensure all stakeholders are aware of process/procedure
Periodically audit team on compliance against ISO standards, support on all ISO external audits, and deliver on report findings
Ensure all ER matters are approached a fair and consistent way in line with our Disability Confident accreditation, our policies and good practice
Finance
Support the Head of Talent and People Development to deliver the budgetary requirements of the department and minimising expenditure
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
Substantial employee relations experience and a full understanding of current employment legislation and TUPE
Demonstrable experience in resolving complex ER matters
Evidence of continuing professional development
Working knowledge of ISO, and Disability Confident, levels and standards
Good understanding of employment legislation, and able to translate this to practical day to day activities
Strong facilitation and coaching skills
Results driven, strong attention to detail, able to juggle priorities and work on multiple projects
Exceptional communication skills with deep authenticity and enthusiasm
Willing to make decisions and include appropriate people in decision-making process; makes timely decisions
Digitally savvy, with solid demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft’s O365 suite of applications, or be fully adept at picking it up quickly
Working knowledge of Cascade, or willingness to learn
Strong interpersonal skills and feel mega confident in a conversation at all levels
You’re a Jedi Knight when it comes to building and maintaining relationships – what is important for us is that you manage expectations; seek feedback to improve service; and meet your commitments
You get things done, you’re self-sufficient, thrive with autonomy and you dislike being micro-managed
Comfortable challenging the status quo; just because we have always done something, it doesn’t mean it is right
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyse data, understand trends and be part of the conversation for action
CIPD qualification or other related post-graduate qualification or gained by experience
