As we prepare for upcoming expansion here at DigitalPath, we are opening a new Accounting Technician 2 position on our Accounting & Finance team. This position would function as a full Accounting Technician 2 with additional team lead and project management responsibilities. The Lead Accounting Technician 2 position reports to the Accounting Manager and will work alongside members of the accounting team. As the “Project Lead” for the team you will be responsible for leading special accounting projects such as audit responses, tax preparations, and data reviews, in addition to regular daily duties listed below. Starting pay $26-30/hr. depending on experience. $3,000 hiring bonus! Hiring bonus to start paying out at 90 days.

Essential Duties of the Accounting Technician II include, but not limited to:

• Take the team lead with project management for the Accounting Department
• Offer a wide range of functional expertise across multiple functions of accounting
• Payroll lead – semi-monthly payroll processing, certified payrolls
• Update daily financial reports
• Month-end closing tasks, including AP review and reconciliations
• Lease tracking, encompassing the review of legal documents
• Submit 1099 forms annually
• Audit 941 forms quarterly
• Train accounting staff in areas of your professional expertise
• Update assorted ledgers and financial reporting
• Research and interpret data for complex financial questions and present findings to management
• Audit financial records & statements
• Create spreadsheets for audit and reconciling purposes

Required Skills:

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
• Understanding of accounting practices and financial reports
• Thrive under pressure with multiple projects and strict deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Manage and self-direct own work with minimal supervision
• Exceptional critical thinking skills allowing for independent problem-solving

Education and Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting/Finance preferred, or a combined equivalent of training/experience with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Due to the confidential nature of the job and the nature of financial transactions you will be handling, you must be able to pass an in-depth background check and credit report.

Lead Accounting Technician 2 compensation: This is a full-time non-exempt position. Starting pay begins at $26-30 depending on experience, with higher possible starting pay for a highly qualified candidate. All job offers are contingent upon applicant passing a post-offer pre-employment background check, credit check, physical, and drug/alcohol screening.
