We are looking to appoint Software Development Officers to join our department to develop some of the national software applications within NHS Wales.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for candidates wishing to start a career in software development. As a member of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, Agile development team you’ll help build some of our national software applications.

What we are looking for

• Our approach to learning is by doing and from day one your focus will be on helping us deliver software to users. We’ll provide you with the opportunities to ask for help and guidance but expect you to have the enthusiasm, drive and aptitude to also develop your skills independently and become an effective team member.

Experience of the following technologies is an advantage but not essential:

• Skills and experience in developing software in client and server side web technologies
• ASP.NET MVC
• Web API
• XForms
• CFML

You will also be interested in front-end technologies such as Bootstrap and be adept in using JavaScript and JQuery to create high quality user-driven applications, and have a good understanding of object oriented design.

What else is advantageous?

• Honours degree in a Science, Technology or a Maths subject (2:1 or above).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
