Position Overview:

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist – IT is responsible for full-cycle recruiting; sourcing, recruiting, screening, placement/hiring of typical non-exempt to Senior level professional roles. The ability to develop strong communication channels with internal customers and external candidates is crucial to success in this position. To achieve this, the right individual must provide “World Class Service” to candidates and internal customers, acting with the greatest amount of professionalism and expressing the highest sense of urgency. This position requires recruitment of all levels of talent, spanning multiple skill bases.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to…

• Partner with company leadership in workforce planning initiatives and implement appropriate recruitment strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs

• Partner with assigned business area leadership to understand human capital needs, making suggestions as necessary

• Provide hiring managers guidance in human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations regarding candidate selection, interview process, hiring decision, etc.

• Review employment applications and job postings to match applicants with job requirements

• Source, screen, qualify and refer candidates, according to hiring managers preference, making recommendations when appropriate

• Facilitate the interview process (i.e., arranging/conducting interviews, administering pre-employment paperwork, entering background check requests) or administering other testing as required

• Ensure quality communication when informing job applicants of details such as status of their application, duties and responsibilities of the role, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities

• Extend employment offers and process hiring-related paperwork ensuring that all appropriate contingencies are satisfied prior to on-boarding

• Provide a positive and professional application and hiring experience to job applicants, employment candidates and employees

• Maintain human resource information system records related to events such as hiring, transfers, or promotions, etc.

• Maintain current knowledge of all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance

• Attend recruitment functions such as job fairs, career expos, college visits, high school, etc.

• Act as liaison with area employment agencies and recruitment agencies

• Effectively represent the candidate and Digi-Key during employment negotiations and upon satisfactory offer extension, prepare official offers of employment and ensure smooth transition to employee

• Attend meetings, conferences and seminars to gain additional knowledge and effectively leverage in daily work and educate others in what was learned

• Mentor others in the methods of recruitment and staffing

• Evaluate selection or testing techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with acquisition or supervisory personnel

• Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

• Build and maintain the candidate pool; keeping in touch with applicants to build interest in Digi-Key for future openings.

• Provide timely and accurate system reporting, including maintaining real-time candidate disposition status in the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) (Workday)

• Collaborative business partner who connects with Hiring Managers and HR (Human Resources) Leaders to develop and execute talent strategies that meet the needs of our business

• In addition to full lifecycle recruiting, focusing on supporting Internal talent movement; driving innovation and continuous improvement initiatives; and building proactive pipelines that will help Digi-Key grow profitably

• Complete all tasks and responsibilities at a mastery level

• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar area of study; or equivalent work experience

Experience

• Typically, 4-6 years of staffing/recruiting experience

• Ability to be creative in sourcing and marketing of open roles to attract talent

• Understands the external marketplace and the impact it has on sourcing strategies (i.e., competition, unemployment rate, movement of companies in/out of area)

• Demonstrated ability to influence others using tact and professionalism; stellar negotiation skills

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership and applicants.

• Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other tools/social media as well as proactive recruiting and sourcing

• Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

• Ability to think quickly and creatively, and to thrive under pressure

• Must possess strong active and passive candidate search skills.

• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments and excel in a high-volume demanding environment.

• Proficiency working in an HCM (Human Capital Management) tool, (specifically Workday preferred)

• Ability to quickly learn the company structure and functions and how they work together as well as the industry Digi-Key operates in

Preferred Qualifications:

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR
