POSITION SUMMARY:
As the National Operation Director, you will lead (change) the Operations organization including manufacturing & Supply Chain supported by Operational Excellence team cluster. The role requires a close collaboration with the local Operating companies, HR, Finance, Innovation, Quality and Global Operations teams (HSE, S&OP, Operational Excellence, Engineering).

You will own the responsibilities to deliver the expected compliance with Legal and Nutreco standard on HSE, Quality and Internal control. Deliver performance on Cost & Service (Opex budget 90 M$ per year), define project, and execute them based on time, quality and budget on innovation launch, Continuous Improvement, Capex & Manufacturing. As a leader, you will insure to develop the Talent agenda (Succession planning), 7 Direct reports for about 500 employees in Operations overall. Part of the National Management team, you will report to the cluster (Canada) Managing Director and the Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain Director.

Your base is St-Hyacinthe, but your work is aiming at 16 plants across the country and will be traveling between 30% to 40% of your time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Accountabilities:

• Global Safety Program
• Global Quality program
• Global Compliance and Insurance program
• Global Operationals Excellence and S&OP

Major capex (budget between 20-30 M$ per year) in progress in productivity, quality, safety and growth.

• Accountable for all operation aspects on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation & Environment; (SQCDME);

1. Lead Safety Culture Program for Canadian factories;

• Introduction, follow-up, tracking & Improvement of the Operation Excellence Program (lean (SIM & 5S), KPI’s and productivity assessment);
• Lead Supply Chain function & practices including S&OP in the regional and local organizations;
• Accountable for the performance of the Operations financial results (OPEX, Stocks levels…) and service (OTIF…)
• Secure compliance from Internal audit (Inventories, processes, HSE) …
• Business Owner for Supply Chain IT tools;
• Support the Country Organization Blue Print & people skills & competence;
• Priorities setting and objectives establishment with Cluster managing Director and Opco General Manager;
• Member of the Global Operations management team and leader on pan-operation team & center of excellence.

Team Management:

• Provides leadership (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a formal & informal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives;
• Manages the development and performance of the teams through a culture of coaching, skills development, and increased accountability.

Preferred Hiring Criteria:

• An undergraduate degree or Diploma in in relevant area Mechanical, (Food, Chemistry, animal nutrition, engineering, science or supply chain); Financial degree or as MBA would be an asset;
• 3 years’ experience in Single factory management with proven transformation / improvement track record;
• Multi-plant management with proven transformation / improvement track record;
• Over 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain role including S&OP / planning;
• International experience (minimum 3 years overseas) with proven “soft” and “hard” experiences;
• Regional or Global role in a related function (Operational Excellence, Safety, Quality or Supply Chain)
• Project Management role (CAPEX or other);
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills English; French will be considered a strong asset;
• Mobility to travel across Canada about 30% to 40%.
• Proven business process understanding in relevant areas;

Required skills:

• Deep Manufacturing & Supply Chain Experiences (see previous); Sales and / or Purchasing experience would be a plus;
• Willing to take an organization (globally) on the next level by applying Safety and Operational Excellence Programmes, introduction of the supply chain function and creation of supply points;
• Able to “smoothly” disrupt status-co;
• Agile with numbers (financials) and KPI’s.
• Presentation skills
