Responsibilities

As an Assistant Business Accountant at DHL, you’ll overcome daily logistical challenges to ensure accounting operations run smoothly. In a fast-paced environment, where every day is different, you’ll have the autonomy to make decisions and be able to continually grow professionally. Use your talents to drive the future of logistics, using the latest technology. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Review and evaluate billing data from transport management system.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure billing accuracy
• Responsibility for invoices issued and distributed in an accurate and timely manner
• Review credit requests and process credit notes after approval
• Review and liable for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month end customer P&L review process
• Taking part in systems and process improvement initiatives
• Other ad hoc analysis

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience.
• Supply Chain/ Logistics experience (desirable)
• Advanced computer software skills, including MS Excel
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent and effective communication skills with external and internal stakeholders
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to work in a busy environment
• Problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Tertiary qualification in accounting and/or finance related discipline
• Completed or working towards CPA/CA qualification
