We are looking for a Finance Assistant who will contribute and provide support in the running of a safe and efficient finance function. You will work within clear guidelines to achieve defined outcomes for the business and our customer(s)

The Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will include

• Weekly / Monthly Payroll
• Completion of weekly and monthly payroll in a timely basis
• Monitor & manage Kronos system for time and attendance system, ensuring employee records are up to date
• Provide key payroll reports to site
• Weekly Quicks
• Capture site agency labour costs and liaise with agencies
• Raise weekly and monthly purchase orders, liaise with suppliers
• Raise sales ledger invoices as required
• Reconcile supplier statements, deal with supplier queries
• Monitor aged purchase orders and invoice rejections and correct where required
• General
• Check payroll and upload via TRS tool. Complete payroll reconciliations to explain variances
• Local level debt management – liaise with customers to ensure prompt payment of invoices
• Oracle housekeeping – run reports and minimise internal compliance charges
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance to DSC Procurement policy
• Completion of the period end checklist and submission to the Finance Manager
• Deputise for Assistant Finance Manager when required
• Capture the Site KPI’s and communicate to the operational team on a weekly basis
• Governance
• Ensure financial governance and ethical standards are maintained and communicated.
• Control & Governance
• Support financial (& business) reporting & forecasting to aid decision making and monitor progress.
• Ensure adherence to DPDHL business compliance, policies and procedures
• Ensure that DPDHL accounting standards & other relevant policies are implemented within own business area.
• Developing Others
• Support the development of financial expertise in the business creating financial best practice
• Play an active part in motivating the Finance team.
• Support own career development.

To be successful as a Finance Assistant in DHL Supply Chain you need the following:

• Effective communication and rapport building skills
• Ability to develop and deliver high quality services and solutions
• A customer centric approach to finance and business operations
• An extremely high work ethic
• Motivation for career progression and development
• A basic knowledge of the use and meaning of finance metrics and tools
• Ability to gather and correlate correct date
