D&H Company Hiring for Accounting Assistant Job at Tupelo, MS Full Time

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. Accounting Assistant responsibilities include reconciling inventory details, reconciling bank accounts, reconciling other general ledger accounts as needed and managing cash exceptions. If you have an interest in accounting and are interested in gaining experience in bookkeeping procedures, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help our Accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile inventories and assist individuals performing audits
• Manage and assist with store workflow to help reduce errors and misstatements
• Reconcile Bank Accounts
• Enter financial transactions into internal databases
• Check spreadsheets for accuracy
• Work closely with internal accountants in preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports
• Work closely with financial services department
• Research financial discrepancies and perform needed corrections

Skills

• Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
• Ability to reconcile bank accounts or other general ledger accounts with minimum supervision
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Performs well in a highly technical environment and embraces new technology and change
• Good math skills combined with a high degree of detail
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel
• World Class Organization Skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• High degree of curiosity
• World Class Communication Skills
• Thrives in an environment with minimum supervision but a high degree of accountability
