The Opportunity:
The Finance Managers role is to deliver end to end financial and accounting services for a portfolio of properties and the Unlisted Funds that own them. This role would require strong business partnering with Asset and Fund Managers, Performance and Fund Analysts. The Finance Manager will deliver timely and accurate statutory, tax and management reporting including actuals, forecasts and budgets that provide insights to the business that enhance decision making and commercial success.

The role:
The key responsibilities of the Finance Manager are as follows:

• Finance and Management Accounting – contribute to accounting practices across the Dexus portfolio by reporting on results internally and externally on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including accounting for transactions and month end processes of reviewing management accounting, balance sheet, capital expenditure, lease incentives and arrears.
• Business Partnering – contribute to the day-to-day delivery of value-add and commercially focussed customer service to key stakeholders across the business particularly with Fund, Property and Asset Managers.
• Convert property and accounting data into meaningful information to improve the quality of business decisions.
• Budgeting and Forecasting – ensure all required budgets and forecasts are accurate and delivered in a timely manner, including income, capital expenditure, incentives, operating expenditure and management fees. Analyse leasing deals and property transactions to ensure all future events impacting financial performance are well considered and communicated.
• Delivery of timely and accurate annual statutory financial statements, including proactively managing the audit process and the preparation of analytical review and presentation of papers as required.
• Tax compliance, including income tax calculations, tax forecasts, tax returns and GST returns.
• Liaise with Transactions & Reporting team to understand technical accounting papers in relation to transactions (accounting issues and disclosures) as they arise to support practical commercial solutions;
• Provide advice and work with members of appropriate teams to deliver business projects and efficiencies.
• People and Culture – contribute to the development of a team of finance professionals, through coaching junior staff and providing on the job feedback.
• Proactive involvement in other projects, ad-hoc analysis and transactions as required.

About you:

• Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a management / financial accounting role with exposure to corporate and statutory reporting.
• CA/CPA qualified with relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Experience in a financial/management accounting role. Experience in Yardi and TM1 is advantageous.
• Strong technical skills and analytical skills.
• Exposure to ASX listed environments.
• Previous Big4 experience is advantageous.
• Exposure to the funds management and property industries preferred but not essential.
