The role – what you’ll do

We are seeking a new General Manager to lead our APAC region, which includes the direct leadership of the sales function. ing to our CRO, Glen Foster (https://www.linkedin.com/in/glenfoster1/ ) who is based in London, you’ll provide leadership and direction for the APAC organisation, including setting goals, inspiring and motivating staff, and promoting a positive and productive work culture.

The new GM will represent Dext externally as the Country Leader for APAC, building relationships with key stakeholders in the market. The role will involve identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including market research and analysis, partnership development, and new product or service offerings.

Finally, the new GM will be expected to be an expert in local market conditions and needs, and ensure other functions (esp. Marketing Product, CS) understand those needs, and hold them accountable for delivering to them.

About you – what we are looking for

Critical competencies:

• Financial management: should have strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Decision-making: must be able to make tough decisions quickly, based on data and analysis, often with limited information.
• Communication: should have strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with C level/Board, senior management, employees, customers, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiation:should be able to negotiate effectively with suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.
• Problem-solving: must be able to identify problems and develop effective solutions, often under pressure and with limited resources and data.
• Innovation:should be able to foster a culture of innovation within the organisation, encouraging employees to generate new ideas and approaches.

Experience

• 10+ years’ sales experience; with commercial acumen with proven ability to identify, qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities within a monthly sales cycle
• 5+ years running a business or remote region with GTM capabilities to define the strategy to deliver against the business needs and targets.
• Business strategy: needs to understand how to develop and implement effective business strategies to achieve organisational goals.
• Financial management: needs to have a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles, including financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Marketing and sales:needs to be knowledgeable about marketing and sales strategies, including market research, brand management, and sales techniques.
• Project management: should have strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple complex projects.
• Operational management: need to be able to manage the day-to-day operations of the organisation, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Behaviours

• Committed to collaborative working practices. Experience working across functions and geographies, including Marketing, Product, Finance and Revenue, and able to set standards within the region team for those practices.
• Acts as an Entrepreneur for the region in question, with responsibility for targets, P&L and the team. Strong financial understanding of SaaS KPIs and how they impact the overall strategic company goals.
• Brings gravitas to commercial relationships, demonstrating natural leadership tendencies for your team, throughout the company and for customers.
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; able to remain calm and focused, and pivot quickly when necessary.
